Florals x Wildly Us

Florals x Wildly Us

I'm really excited to share this project with you all!  At the beginning of this year I decided that I wanted to work with my hands creatively.  Flowers felt like the most natural fit.  Growing up I would cut bunches of purple lilacs from our backyard and arrange them strategically around my bedroom.  Flowers are always at the centre of our table when we entertain (which is quite often).  In the last few years I've started growing flowers in our garden with dreams of having a cut flower garden one day.  And through the winter theres nothing quite like a beautiful bouquet to give life to home when everything outside is freezing and covered in snow.  I love the idea of flowers being at the heart of gatherings, a part of celebration, and a loving + thoughtful way to let someone know you're thinking of them.

Summer Solstice Dinner

Summer Solstice Dinner

Summer 2017 is officially here!  I'm a big believer in celebrating any chance you get, and summer is something to celebrate!  So, we collaborated with friends to put together this beautiful, delicious al fresco dinner to ring in sunny days, warm nights, windows open, too many glasses of rose and the first of many dinners on our patio.

Cocktails // Plum+Ginger Whiskey Sour

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't consider myself a cocktail connoisseur.  I like my wine too much to stray.  Perhaps it's the Christmas records playing non-stop that have inspired me to experiment with a festive cocktail though.  There's something about the idea of drinking cocktails and listening to Christmas that just seems SO right together.  Also, we entertain a lot during the Christmas season, it's one of my favourite things.  When we have people over I love having pre-made cocktails ready to pick up upon arrival to start the evening off with a cheers (and stress-free on the part of the hosts - us).  With a lot of help from James we came up with a simple, festive cocktail recipe to kick start the holiday season.  P.S. You'll probably catch us drinking these over the weekend as we deck the halls!

Autumn, Thanksgiving, and harvest seem to happen so suddenly once summer fades away and the leaves begin to fall.  I love that we are able to celebrate all these things at once during this gorgeous season.  Our patio sees a lot of entertaining and connection with friends during the summer months, and since we love our outdoor space so much we have been taking every opportunity to make it last 'just once more' before winter falls.   With a few tweaks to cozy up our yard we are still able to enjoy dinner outside under the light of our string lights, fire pit, and candles.  We worked with Guildhall Home to make our al fresco harvest dinner a little cozier and allow our conversation to last late into the evening outdoors.  Here are a few tips to extend your outdoor dining season, set up a gorgeous harvest dinner table, and get a peek into our backyard.

Garden Harvest Recipe // Heirloom Tomatoes

The time has come for us to begin harvesting veggies from our garden.  We had a really good season despite it being an unpredictable one.  Aside from a little wind damage everything has survived and thrived up until this point.  As we begin the process of using things up I thought I would share some of our go-to recipes that have been on repeat in our kitchen. First up tomatoes..

Entertaining // FLWRS

This post represents three of my favourite things: Sarah, Entertaining, and Flowers.  Luckily for me, Sarah and these two things go together very naturally.  Let me explain.  I met Sarah on Instagram a few years ago.  We started following each other and then eventually decided to meet for coffee.  We slowly got to know each other over coffee dates during the next few years.  At our coffee date at the beginning of 2016 Sarah announced that her, her husband, Sam, and their son, Zeke would be moving back to their homeland - Aus.  Maybe it was the awareness of limited time with each other that accelerated our relationship with them, but within this year Sarah, Sam, James and I spent lots of time getting to know each other and they quickly became very close friends.
