For the last few summers I have wanted to attend a powwow. Lucky for me, the Tsuu T'ina Nation holds an annual powwow and rodeo each July near Bragg Creek (just west of Calgary) and this year we were able to schedule it in and make an afternoon of it! It's a gathering of tribes from across the country and open for all to attend. There are drumming circles, competitions, dancing, costumes, tipi's, and a rodeo event. It's entertaining but also simply stunning to see. As I've mentioned before ( in this post ) the native culture has always fascinated and resonated with me. It was amazing to feel apart of that for an entire afternoon - surrounded by tradition, culture, and utter beauty.
