Cheers // Christmas + 2017

Cheers // Christmas + 2017

I know I'm not the only one to feel like Christmas/December has flown by this year.  It's been a busy, cold, and at times exhausting month but we've made it!  I LOVE this season, but have always felt like the build up is the best part.  Most years by the time December 25th arrives I feel so disappointed to have to consider putting away the ornaments and records until next year.  This year feels different.  I think it has to do with looking ahead.  2016 was quite a year.  It was full of the most wonderful moments and yet, was raw, and scary, and unpredictable.

Foraged Holiday Wreath

It's December!  More than Christmas I love the energy and feeling in the air throughout this whole month.  It's pure magic.  The snow and cold, having a calendar filled with weekend plans for holiday drinks and dinners with people you love,  the sparkly lights, the smells of pine and cinnamon, saying "Happy Christmas" to strangers. Natural Cold Remedies

Natural Cold Remedies

Being sick is the worst.  This time of year seems to bring out the colds in people.  I was going to say there's nothing like having a cold during the winter months, but really there's no good time to get sick, and colds during the summer may even be worse.  In any case when either of us begin feeling that dreaded scratchy throat, runny nose, or itchy ears we have a natural health care regime that we promptly begin.  As per my philosophy on health and wellness I think it's important to provide your body with what it needs to fight off any illness rather than take meds to lessen the symptoms momentarily.  (Obviously there's a place for said meds too, because let's be honest, relief from that stupid one nostril being plugged for any amount of time can provide a little light at the end of the tunnel.)  Here are the things I keep on hand once those symptoms start popping up, in hopes of lessening the degree of sick.

Oneness // Thoughts on Marriage

Oneness // Thoughts on Marriage

This is a daunting post to write.  Because I have so many thoughts.  So many strong opinions.  It's such a broad topic.  But, I'm a champion for marriage.  I also feel like marriage gets a bad rap.  It's silly that until now I haven't felt a right to touch on this subject (I also haven't had a platform to write so publicly and freely either so it's not been something that eats at me.)  James and I have been together for 11 years, and married for 6.  11 years of oneness, love, home, evolution, understanding, intention, and commitment.  We've experienced our relationship and now marriage in such a positive light because we are intentional about the way we approach it and always have been.  We continue to hold a place of respect for each other.  We continue to love spending time together.  We continue to choose each other.  But each part is about being intentional.
